Our bags are not meant to be thrown in the bathtub, ocean, swimming pool etc. While the exterior may be made from waterproof material, the interior isn’t. The benefit of waterproof material is that you need not panic when caught in the rain, or someone spills their drink over your bag. For cleaning, wipe them with a wet cloth.
Especially for the clutch and tote, these are made in the same tradition as equivalent leather bags, they are sturdy because of thick cardboard, which naturally should not be doused in water (this too is why leather bags may loose their shape – the cardboard needing to be replaced).
Yes, as long as the cloth is sturdy enough and it is a square. Our forkcat kerchiefs are actually the thinnest we’d use. I use them with my keffiyeh (though I have to fold it into a square first).
Normally you’d go for a sturdier cotton. We want the kerchief to be multi-use, so you can also wear. For that reason we went with the lightest textile that can comfortably be worn but also used as a bag.
We will try. There are colors being worked on. Completely black or white patterns are extremely difficult, as the outline of the cats may get lost – we want to, but no promises just yet. Next to be worked on are pink and purple, then probably different color combinations.
Yes.
At the time of launching this website, the count is at 20760 forks. Though a couple dozen early ones escaped the count. Also, around 200 are pigs, not cats.
Forkpigs already are a thing, so eventually may be a pattern. Perhaps for the year of the pig?
As long as there are no ethical reasons not to, we’d love to. We’d love to even do a forkcat toothbrush or hairbrush. If it makes people’s day a bit brighter, definitely.
Some Greek rock from the 80s/90s. Neue Deutsche Welle. Rebel music. Random things on the radio. I am discovering newer bands like Kneecap, Bob Vylan etc.
